Biographical Statement
I became interested in literacy education after completing BAs in Cultural Anthropology and History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Reflecting on how much my experience writing for those disciplines shaped my identity led me to pursue an MA in English Composition at San Francisco State University, where I followed interests that continue to guide my work here at UIUC, including: teacher collaboration, social justice pedagogy, and socialization through academic and disciplinary literacy instruction.
